Introducing Repair Café Lambeth CIC!

repair cafe

Repair Café Lambeth CIC is a community interest company powered by Integrate and We Are 336. We are helping the good people of Lambeth fix their broken stuff for free. We focus not only on mending things but also restoring confidence, sharing useful skills and promoting communication, cooperation and community spirit!

All are welcome.

We are looking for volunteers with a range of skills who could be our repair experts, sharing their knowledge and experience during Repair Café Lambeth events, helping members of the community to keep usable stuff out of the waste system and showing them how to do simple repairs. We are especially looking for people who enjoy fixing:
·        clothing/textiles
·        electrical appliances
·        musical instruments
·        bicycles
·        furniture/wooden objects
·        anything else you could offer...

In addition, we are also looking for people could help with the role of host at the meetings. You would provide coffee, tea, biscuits and cake, welcome visitors and serve as a contact point for both visitors and repairers in our Repair Café.

Repair Café Lambeth marks the start of an exciting journey towards sustainability and community-building in the local area. We believe in the power of community and Repair Café Lambeth is a fantastic opportunity for people to come together, learn new skills, and make a difference. It’s something we have needed in our community for a while, but we need everyone’s help to make it a success. We invite volunteers to join our community and help us build a more sustainable Lambeth.

Our Repair Café has been established on the Netherlands’ Repair Café Foundation model, which aims are to reduce waste, overconsumption, fixing skills obsolescence, and to promote do-it-yourself as well as do-it-together spirit and strengthen social cohesion. It quickly became a worldwide movement.
