Volunteers wanted for TLC Support Project
We need volunteers to work for a few hours a week in a small team.
Clapham Park Project’s “Time Loving Care” scheme aims to provide support for residents in the Clapham Park area before, during a period of acute illness. The project aims to help people to feel more supported and in control during a difficult and stressful period of illness or hospitalisation. The assistance we would provide would be similar to the traditional role of good neighbour or friend. The service would not be a replacement for existing health or social services.
Help might include:
- visiting and supporting people when they experience difficulty managing their usual routines
- checking the property is safe, preparing home for discharge and visiting people at home
- signposting to community services and social activities
- signposting to community services and social activities
Volunteers will be given training and support.
Expenses will be reimbursed
All volunteers will be subject to an enhanced CRB check
A problem shared, is a problem halved.
