Thrive Clapham Park

London Mayor Sadiq Khan’s Thrive LDN project aims to improve the health and happiness of Londoners. As part of that effort Clapham Park Estate has been chosen to test different ways of supporting people to thrive. The project wants to hear your ideas for how residents can be supported to live healthier, happier lives. Food growing in the park

The Friends of Agnes Riley Gardens want to run food growing workshops in the park for local people, young and old, making great use of the polytunnel, the existing raised beds and also the covered growing spaces in the park. The park is located next to a number of large social housing estates. Clapham Park Estate, just over the road, is being redeveloped and large numbers of people will be moving into the area. Small electrical items recycling event – Brixton – 29/4/17

Do you have any small electronic items you no longer use? Recycle them at the WEEE event in Brixton on 29 April. On 29 April 2017 Veolia, Lambeth’s waste collection contractor, is holding a Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) recycling event at Tesco, Acre Lane. This is a great chance for you to recycle any broken or unused small electronic items which may be lying around at home. You can bring any small electrical appliances, either broken or in perfect working order, to the event. These items can include hair dryers, kettles, irons, TVs, computers and mobile phones. Register to vote

A general election will take place on Thursday 8 June 2017 To be able to vote in the election, you need to register to vote by Monday 22 May. The deadline for postal vote applications is 5pm Tuesday 23 May. There are three Parliamentary seats in Lambeth and you can vote for one of them. But if your name is not on the new register you won’t be able to vote. Voting is the most important way to make your voice heard on issues that concern you.
